30 Days of Little Man and Little Princess ~ Day 8

30 Days About Me

190 Strained

Today prompt is Something You Hate.

Little Man hates meat. It is about the only thing he hates, getting him to eat protein that looks like anything other than a chicken nugget is well a challenge, but I can trick him with cheese or peanut butter.

Little Princess well she hates following the rules and when we do not give her what she wants right then and there! She also hates the cat, Tinkerbell…which is funny as originally she is the one who wanted a cat :)

It is so funny to be talking about their hates as they are still so young that they really have no real hates yet or at least I hope not :)

Introducing Tinkerbell

Little Man would like to take a few minutes to introduce you to our newest family member….Tinkerbell the kitten/cat!

Notice he is totally in love!

Tinkerbell was found by some good friends of ours in their greenhouse/basement. Mama was in the process of moving the litter and Tink and her brother, Magnus, were found by them. They do not own mama – she is a wild kitty. When Tink and her brother were found they were probably 4-6 weeks old and little. We said we would take her and they kept her until she could come here!

The guess is she is about 8 weeks old. She is fun loving and has the loudest purr we have ever heard. She was for Little Princess but she has been a little leary of her, her brother on the other hand is OBESSED. He follows the kitty around, trys to help her climb things and always wants to play with her and pet her. We hear “Hi, meow meow” more times in a day than I can count. (Little Man says HI to everything now living or not….if he can identify it then it gets a “Hi!!”)

Tink uses her litter VERY well and is a good eater! She is also a lover….if possible she wants to sleep with you or near you. As long as Little Man and Little Princess leave her door alone we have left her out all day…I am sure soon we will be slowly moving her food and water to a new place (I have caught the twins in her water once already.)

We have not let her have the pleasure of meeting the dogs (Katie, Simba and Aurora) yet. She was not a huge fan of the lab she lived with before and well we want her to be comfortable before we stress her out by our little yappers :) She and Aurora could really have some fun though, if they like each other!

Introducing our new family member….Quack Up

This is Quack Up a few weeks ago…..

Tonight a very good friend brought Up (his former name) to live with us permanently. She got here after nap time but before dinner time, we fed the kids before we introduced them. Initially they were a little apprehensive but soon realized what we were showing them! The only thing the following video does not show is the PURE excitement they had! Little Princess quacked at Up every time she saw him, even though we kept trying to tell her he is NOT a duck! But the pure LOVE they have for this tiny animal is amazing! And thanks to Little Princess his name is now Quack Up…

I am pretty sure that we will have to find him a home that is NOT at their level because they would spend ALL their time with him! Now her is my smile video for the week:

Our First Post

This is our first blog ever but we figure that we could add that to a lot of firsts lately! I guess this post will be about Aaron and I… (and I should add a disclaimer that Carissa will most likely be the one doing most of the posting – I tend to be a bit verbose so I apologize in advance!)

I (Carissa) am an attorney. I grew up in Central Illinois and went to Monmouth College and Southern Illinois University School of Law. I currently work in Springfield, Illinois in a general practice firm! I love anything Disney or panda related! I have wanted to adopt my entire life. A very good friend, probably my best friend as a child is from Vietnam and so the country is very near and dear to my heart!

Aaron is an actuary. He grew up very near to where we currently live. He graduated from the University of Illinois. He has worked at the same company for almost 12 years! He likes anything Illini or dog related! Adoption is new to Aaron but he is excited to go through this process and has been trying to help me keep everything organized!

We live in an AMAZING old home, that needs so much work we at times are not sure where to begin! We have five dogs [Mia (cocker spaniel), Nala, Ima, Kate and Simba (the rest are Norfolk Terriers)] and four rabbits [Lilo, Stitch, Smokey (these three are mini lops) and Elphie (he is an English Lop)]. We love musicals and helping each other do things!

We are anxious to help each other become acquainted with our children! We are requesting two infants, we hope a boy and a girl but really we do not care as long as we are able to start our family. Please feel free to add any comments possible to help us along!
