{52/365} Dinner at GiGi’s
Today was a monthly dinner with Aaron’s Grandma ~ GiGi ~ she recently moved to a retirement community and so the people there always seem to love it when we come to visit! We usually have at least one resident stop us and ask us to keep bring the kids, tell us how cute the kids are or just smile at us as we pass through the common areas to get to GiGi’s! {51/365} Grandma & Grandpa’s
So today we went to my mom and dad’s house for some fun time with Grandma and Grandpa! I want to remember a few stories: (1) We met my mom and my sister at the ice cream shop where my sister was meeting her wedding photographer to go over her order for her wedding pictures. After Little Princess ate her ice cream she saw the pictures and had so much fun telling me who was in the pictures…she is the queen of being able to identify who people are. You say a name and she can show you where that person’s picture is in our house. Well she was doing that with the proofs my sister had and everyone LOVED it! {50/365} Naps or lack thereof…
Apparently Little Man and Little Princess have given up naps for Lent…yeah it was that Wednesday that they stopped sleeping during the day and still not sleeping at night. I am almost at my wits end right now and I am exhausted. Here is how nap time used to work: Around 11:30 I would fix their lunch, sit them in their chairs and they would eat (usually with no complaint). After lunch it was diaper change and up the stairs for nap time. Typically they were in their bed prior to Noon and I would read a book or two to them, tuck them in, tell them I love them and we would play when they woke up! {49/365} It is not August…
Ok I am NOT allowed to read any more adoption blogs today. Just a sprinkle of what is going on ~ one family just ended a years long battle and will be bringing their now 7 year old daughter home VERY soon, one family just answered the call to adopt a beautiful baby girl, another just got their travel call to meet/bring home their daughter and I am itching for us to be next. See it was not that long ago that I told Aaron who is ready to start the next adoption, that it would not be happening until at least August 10, 2010 so don’t bring it up again until then PERIOD. {47/365} Don’t blink…
I have been trying not to blink lately because I am pretty sure if I do I will miss it all and Little Man and Little Princess will be off to college. I remember when I thought “if only they could walk, life would be easier” and before I knew it they were walking and shortly thereafter running. Now I want to go back to those crawling days, I could catch them faster and would document more of what they did because I now feel like I missed it all. I know that I kept thinking “if only they could talk, life would be so much easier” I now laugh at that one the most!
