{77/365} Learning Korean…
A few weeks ago we checked out from our local library the book and CD called Teach Me…Korean and Teach Me More…Korean. It has been fun using them with Little Man and Little Princess! We even downloaded the songs to the iPod and they are listening all the time. Maybe by their third birthday we will all have Happy Birthday in Korean memorized! (how cool would that be to be able to sing to them in Korean!!!) So it has come time to look for gifts from the Easter Bunny…and we started looking for other ways to incorporate Korean into our lives and make it part of the learning they do everyday. We found this store called Little Seouls and they have Korean flash cards among other things! So the Easter … Read entire article »

{63/365} Braids
Today for the first time I braided my daughters hair ~ cute little LONG braids and I loved it! She looked cute and loved turning her head to watch them swing! We also went to Korean story time, I love getting together with Koreans and they love to help me make sure my children retain something from their culture! We drove an hour for 1/2 an hour of story time and an hour of play time with other children who looked just like them and some time to talk to the people who can REALLY tell me what I want to know about Korea. This time always makes me want to take Aaron and I’s dream of moving to Seoul for a few years to the next level! … Read entire article »

{57/365} An Important Gold For Us
Last night I cried as Kim Yu-Na skated into our hearts and a place of honor in our home. She might be one of the most popular people in Korea, she may have had the weight of a nation on her shoulders but she skated beautifully! She is a good role model that I can give Little Princess so that she sees Koreans in an amazing light AND sees that she can do and be whatever she wants (Little Man as well). I am so excited about this gold, and even though this whole thing is a complete loss to my children right now it is not to me! The reasons I cheered for Korea last night instead of the United States: … Read entire article »

{45/365} Happy Lunar New Year
Yes I am aware it is also Valentine’s Day today but I have been looking forward to Lunar New Year as well! Any event where it is sanctioned that I can eat tons of Korean food AND celebrate with friends I am all about! We were headed to another town for the celebration! Aaron had fixed the car battery and we were ready to go! I watched my beloved Illini lose and then we left because I want to visit the fabric store in that town as well as the Asian grocery so we left early. Everyone looked so cute…I say that because not everyone was wearing what they left the house in come dinner time. We get to the town and Little Man and I went into the fabric store (Little … Read entire article »

Setting some goals…
(What do you think of my new glasses an my first self portrait?) It has come again the end of the year and I finally kept a new year’s resolution, I survived my first year as a stay at home mom. No one is dead or maimed and really there have been tons of smiles and lots of fun! And really I realized I must start telling you all about the things that happen in my life daily. As I was finishing up a six hour marathon catch up phone call with a very good friend who I made in the process of our adoption and we started talking about what kinds of crazy things our kids are up to now and I was telling her about Little Man’s tantrums (and … Read entire article »
