Parenting Classes and naps…
Today was so surreal that I am not even sure where to begin…I think that this process has been very surreal for me. I know that when you are actually pregnant, you can anticipate what is to come and I have been told that you start to see many women around you who are also pregnant. Well when you are adopting you cannot tell who else is in the middle of an adoption. Today I found out that there are many more people out there adopting than I ever would have imagined. Aaron and I attended a meeting (required by our agency) to learn more about the process and what it will be like to adopt a child from another country. To try and keep it short, we have found … Read entire article »

Faster than I thought…
Ok so I guess that I thought the paperwork would take FOREVER….but today the US government restored my faith in the quickness of the world! Less than three weeks after we sent them in we received our FBI fingerprints back and happily Aaron and I both have NO arrest records! (Was anyone concerned???? hehe) So anyone want to take bets on how long it will take the state of Illinois?!?! We are down to each of our medical appointments, Aaron’s individual visit and our actual home visit! It feels like we are ending the first part of the first step and with not too many terrible problems! Let’s continue to pray for smooth sailing!!!!!! Before I know it I will be compiling our dossier….. … Read entire article »

Sorry…
Ok so things have been CRAZY since our last post (Carissa has a couple of trials all at once and Aaron’s test is at the end of the month!). A couple of things have happened on the adoption front… (1) There was a HUGE (big understatement) misunderstanding between us and the partnering adoption agency. While it is now fixed it made for a more stressful Easter weekend! (2) I had my one on one with the social worker. This was great…and went fine but the funniest thing that happened there was she looked at me at one point and asked point blank “How did you turn out so normal????” Jessie I put that in there just for you! I had to laugh and that broke the ice! I had nothing to worry … Read entire article »
