{45/365} Happy Lunar New Year

Yes I am aware it is also Valentine’s Day today but I have been looking forward to Lunar New Year as well! Any event where it is sanctioned that I can eat tons of Korean food AND celebrate with friends I am all about! We were headed to another town for the celebration! Aaron had fixed the car battery and we were ready to go! I watched my beloved Illini lose and then we left because I want to visit the fabric store in that town as well as the Asian grocery so we left early. Santa Here We Come….

So I bit the bullet and took the twins to see Santa at the mall — I wanted to be able to take my own pictures but I had waited too long (starting next year we will have breakfast with Santa to support some firemen I know but I missed it this year). Because I was worried about how they would take to the big man in red I asked their Grandma and Grandpa H if they wanted to join us and of course they said YES! Christmas Traditions

When Aaron and I got married we decided that we would wait until we had kids to set any solid Christmas traditions, so last year Aaron and I had our first opportunity to start our own family traditions for Christmas!  We decided to start small and work our  way up. We talked a lot about these “small” traditions (we started talking about them on the way to Korea last year) and came up with this list: Make Christmas cookies with both Grandmas (both  already did this with their other grandkids) Spend at least an evening if not a whole day  in November and December giving back  (we hope to find something to do every  month eventually) The kids will get 4 gifts total from mommy and daddy (next year we have to come … Read entire article »
