My First Mommy Injury
This is what I look like for the next 24 hours:
Yes you can laugh if want, I did when I saw it in the mirror and when Aaron asked me if I wanted to go fabric shopping!
So how did I go from my usual self to this, here ya go:
Yesterday Aaron’s brother, his wife and their two children were coming down to visit. I went to Walgreens and bought all the kids some Disney character coloring books to take with us to lunch since I know sometimes big tables take a little longer and this might keep the kids occupied. Little Princes is totally acting 2.5 lately and two things must be at all times (1) it is her way or no way and (2) if 1 does not happen there is an absolute complete meltdown.
So we were at lunch and we were all eating. Little Princess saw her Tinkerbell book next to her and that is NOT where she wanted it and she threw it at me. When she did that the cover slipped up under my glasses and into my eye. At the time it hurt but not very bad and I thought it was no big deal. So we did nothing. All was fine until I tried to go to sleep, I could not sleep and it hurt and when I cried it hurt worse. I woke Aaron up at 5 am and told him when the twins woke up I wanted to go to the ER. While I waited I looked online and found a site that said a cool washcloth could help and to keep my eye closed. So I did that and was able to sleep for about 3 hours. By that time our road was blocked (the Memorial Day parade comes right in front of our house), so we watched the parade from inside the house. After that we were trying to decide what to do today when I said “let’s go to prompt care.”
The Dr at prompt care said I have a corneal laceration ~ essentially a paper cut on my eye. She said I have to look like this for the next 24 hours and then follow up with my Dr. I have medicine and hopefully will be all better in just a few days. But I also have a story for my strong willed little girl forever!
Speaking of that strong willed little girl, when she saw me she took a step back like who is that and checks me out every time she sees me right now…I chuckle and think better me than her or her brother and isn’t this just part of being a mommy!
(I am not mad at Little Princess…she did not mean to cause me harm so don’t take this post that way please…)

Ouch! Glad that it should be healing in 24 hours. Morgan is notorius for trying to put our eyes out…I guess it’s a toddler thing!

Ouch! I’ve done that to myself twice with my contact lenses–NO FUN!! The good news is that it heals pretty quickly. Hope the rest of your weekend was MUCH better!!

BRUTAL!!!! That is so terrible. How sweet of you to make sure we know you aren’t cross with Little Princess. You have the sweetest heart for your babies!

I know you aren’t upset at the little sweetie. You’ll definitely have a story for her later when she can understand
I hope your eye does get better soon.
